ALKIRA & POLARIS are sister ships.

Both are multi-purpose steel workboats, designed and built by Phil Heaney.

Both are built to USL code 2C/2D survey standards and both are capable of undertaking a variety of tasks.

Polaris was the first vessel of its type built specifically as a mooring boat with a fixed crane aboard.

She was launched in Sydney in 1984.

Alkira was built and launched at Alkira Boatshed in 1992 and is the fourth vessel built from the design of Phil Heaney, all of which have been very successful in their field of operations.
